About
Me
I'm a French-Swedish senior game engine plumber, formally trained handweaver and beginner glassblower. I grew up in Northern France and returned here after a decade spent in Stockholm, Sweden. Craft is central to what I do, whether it's code or textile or something else : I care deeply about how things are made, who they are made for and why, along with the best ways to help others make things. And so much of my time outside of work is spent diving deep into game criticism, spinning yarn or going on at length about the fascinating labor history and inner workings of the Jacquard loom.
I go by Lia online and do not use gendered pronouns. If you absolutely must use some, my preferences are they / them pronouns, iel and neutral forms in French. Or hen in Swedish, but that comes up less often.
This website
Social media is dying and so we're bringing back blogs, with RSS feeds even. You'll pry Twitter and its ilk from my cold dead hands, but owning one's content is good and putting things in a form that encourages proofreading will likely be beneficial to my brain.
Topics will range from tech bullshit I've ran into and wish to document, to craft-related eyecandy, to fun or interesting stuff I want to share, to the occasional rant if I deem my opinions worthy of turning into more than annoyed takes somewhere. All pictures and writing belong to me unless indicated otherwise, don't be weird about using them without permission.
As the footer states, this blog is made with Pelican, meaning it's a bunch of handwritten stuff generating a pile of static HTML files. Currently guaranteed 100% Javascript-free, and without cookies (except for what my webhost might use, which I do not control).
Elsewhere online
My work portfolio, notably for tech, can be found over on liartisanat.art. Everything handweaving-related can be found on the Fibraquarelle website. Social media links are in the sidebar. If you're one of the twelve people who are weirdly obsessed with a certain Gamecube-era JRPG, you might want to take a look at meemai.rocks.
